Sharat Katariya is an Indian filmmaker and lyricist known for his work in Hindi cinema. He started his career as an assistant director to Rajat Kapoor during the making of the film "Raghu Romeo" and also worked as a lyricist for the film. He has written dialogues for films like "Bheja Fry" and "Sunglass."
In collaboration with Deven Khote and Kunal Vijaykar, Katariya worked on the directorial venture "Fruit and Nut" produced by Vishesh Films. He also served as the first assistant on the film "Rok Sako To Rok Lo." His film "That's What My Dad Used to Say" was showcased at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Katariya has also worked on a short film titled "Long Distance Call," starring Ranvir Shorey. In 2006, he penned lyrics for the film "Mixed Doubles."
As a director, his debut film was "10ml Love" (2010), which was based on William Shakespeare's play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and featured Rajat Kapoor, Tisca Chopra, and Purab Kohli in leading roles. He followed it up with the critically acclaimed films "Dum Laga Ke Haisha" (2015) and "Sui Dhaaga" (2018).
