Sivaangi Krishnakumar, popularly known as Sivaangi, is an Indian playback singer, actress, and television personality. She was born on May 25, 2000, in Trivandrum, Kerala, to a Malayali mother and Tamil father. Her father, Krishnakumar, is a singer and musicologist, while her mother, Binni Krishnakumar, is a playback singer. Both of her parents are recipients of the Kalaimamani Award. Sivaangi has a younger brother named Vinaayak Sunder.
Sivaangi completed her schooling at Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Virugambakkam, Chennai. She later pursued a bachelor's degree in Commerce at M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women in Chennai. During her college days, she ventured into the music industry.
In 2019, Sivaangi gained recognition as a contestant on the Tamil reality television singing competition, Super Singer 7, which aired on Star Vijay. She showcased her singing talent on the show and received appreciation from the audience.
She then participated in the comedy cooking show, Cooku With Comali, which also aired on Star Vijay. Her performance on the show garnered her popularity and accolades. She received awards such as "The Entertaining Star Female" at the Blacksheep Digital Awards and "Most Popular Female in Reality Television" at the Behindwoods Gold Icons. She also won the "Trending Pair of the Year" award with Ashwin Kumar Lakshmikanthan at the Vijay Television Awards.
In 2020, Sivaangi made her acting debut in the comedy web series called Dear-u Brother-u, which garnered attention from the audience and netizens.
As a playback singer, Sivaangi made her debut in the Tamil film industry with the song "Anbaale Azhagaagum" from the movie Pasanga in 2009. She has since lent her voice to several songs in Tamil films, including "Talku Lessu Worku Moreu," "Machi," "Uruttu," "Nee En Usuru Pulla," "Sathiyama Sollurandi," "Bomma Bomma," "Neethanada," and "Rekkalu thodigi." She continues to work on new songs, with two set to be released in the second half of 2022.
Sivaangi has also ventured into acting, appearing in films such as Don, Naai Sekar Returns, and Kasethan Kadavulada.
She runs her own YouTube channel called Sivaangi Krishnakumar, where she shares her music, vlogs, and other content.
