Shreya Ghoshal is an Indian singer known for her wide vocal range and versatility. She is considered one of the most prolific and popular singers in India. Ghoshal has recorded songs for films and albums in various Indian languages and has received numerous accolades, including four National Film Awards, four Kerala State Film Awards, two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, two BFJA Awards, seven Filmfare Awards, and ten Filmfare Awards South.
Ghoshal began learning music at the age of four and started her formal training in classical music at the age of six. She gained recognition at the age of sixteen when she won the television singing reality show "Sa Re Ga Ma." This led to her Bollywood playback singing debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film "Devdas" (2002). Her song "Bairi Piya" from the film became an instant success, and she received a National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her performance.
