Raqesh Bapat is an Indian actor and model known for his work in both films and television. He has appeared in movies such as "Tum Bin" (2001), "Koi Mere Dil Mein Hai" (2005), "Vrundavan" (2016), and "Savita Damodar Paranjape" (2018). In the television industry, he is recognized for his roles in shows like "Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar" (2005-2008), "Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak?" (2010-2012), and "Qubool Hai" (2014).
Raqesh Bapat was born on September 1, 1978, in Mumbai. He showcased his talent in painting at a young age and even won a National Award at the junior level. In 2011, he married actress Ridhi Dogra, but they got divorced in 2019. In September 2021, he began dating Shamita Shetty, who was his connection in the reality show "Bigg Boss OTT."
Bapat made his Bollywood debut with the movie "Tum Bin" in 2001. He was selected for the role of Amar Shah after being noticed in a toothpaste advertisement by the director's wife. He went on to appear in films like "Dil Vil Pyar Vyar" (2002), "Tumse Milke Wrong Number" (2003), "Kaun Hai Jo Sapno Mein Aaya" (2004), "Naam Gum Jaayega" (2005), and others.
His television career began in 2005 with the show "Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar," where he portrayed a negative character. He continued to work in TV shows like "Ek Packet Umeed" (2008), "Seven- The Ashvamedha Prophecy" (2010), and "Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak?" (2010-2012). In 2012, he made a comeback to films with "Heroine" and also made his Marathi film debut with "Aayna ka Bayna." Bapat participated in dance reality shows like "Nach Baliye 6" (2013) and took on lead roles in Marathi films such as "Vrundavan" (2016) and "Sarv Mangal Savdhan" (2016).
In 2014, Raqesh Bapat replaced Karan Singh Grover in the lead role of Asad Ahmed Khan in the popular TV show "Qubool Hai." He also appeared in other TV projects like "Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant" (2016-2017) and "Tu Aashiqui" (2018). In recent years, he has continued to work in Marathi films, including "Savita Damodar Paranjape" (2018), "WhatsApp Love" (2019), and "Mumbai Apli Ahe" (2019).
In 2021, Raqesh Bapat participated in the reality show "Bigg Boss OTT" and later entered "Bigg Boss 15" as a wildcard contestant. However, he left the show due to medical reasons.
