Ram Kapoor, born on September 1, 1973, is an Indian actor known for his work in films and television serials. He gained fame for his portrayal of Jai Walia in the television series Kasamh Se and the character of Ram Kapoor in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Ram has also appeared in films such as Humshakals, where he played a triple role, and has hosted the reality show Rakhi Ka Swayamwar, based on The Bachelorette.
Throughout his career, Ram Kapoor has received several awards, including 3 ITA Awards and 3 Indian Telly Awards for Best Actor. He has showcased his talent and versatility in both the television and film industries.
Ram Kapoor spent his formative years at Sherwood College in Nainital, Uttarakhand, where he discovered his passion for acting. Under the guidance of Amir Raza Hussein, he honed his skills and decided to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. After completing his tenth board exams, he studied at the Kodaikanal International School before heading to Los Angeles, where he planned to join UCLA for filmmaking but ended up attending a Stanislavski-based acting academy.
Ram Kapoor made his onscreen debut with the television serial Nyaay in 1997, followed by appearances in shows like Heena, Sangharsh, and Kavita. In 2000, he acted in the popular family drama Ghar Ek Mandir and collaborated once again with Amir Raza Hussein in the play The Fifty Days of War - Kargil, where he played multiple characters.
His acting career expanded to films, with notable appearances in movies like Dhadkan, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, and Udaan. In 2006, Ram Kapoor gained significant popularity through his role as Jai Udai Walia in the soap opera Kasamh Se. He went on to participate in reality shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as a contestant and Rakhi Ka Swayamwar as the host.
In 2011, Ram Kapoor starred in the television show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, where he played the male protagonist, Ram Amarnath Kapoor. The show became a major success, and his performance received praise from the audience and critics alike.
