Tovino Thomas is an Indian actor and film producer who primarily works in Malayalam cinema. He was born on January 21, 1989, in Irinjalakuda, Thrissur, Kerala. Tovino made his acting debut in 2012 with the film "Prabhuvinte Makkal." However, before venturing into acting, he worked as a software engineer at Cognizant Technologies.

Tovino gained recognition for his roles in films like "ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi" (2013), "7th Day" (2014), and "Ennu Ninte Moideen" (2015). His performance in "Ennu Ninte Moideen" earned him critical acclaim and the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. He continued to deliver notable performances in films such as "Guppy" (2016), "Oru Mexican Aparatha" (2017), "Godha" (2017), and "Mayanadi" (2017). His portrayal in "Mayanadi" garnered him the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor.

In 2018, Tovino made his Tamil film debut with "Maari 2" alongside Dhanush. He also appeared in several successful Malayalam films that year, including "Theevandi," "Ente Ummante Peru," and "Oru Kuprasidha Payyan." In 2019, he featured in films like "Lucifer," "Uyare," and "Virus." "Uyare" became the first Malayalam film to be released in South Korea.

In 2020, Tovino starred in the crime thriller "Forensic," which was a commercial success. In 2021, he ventured into film production with his own production house, Tovino Thomas Productions. His production house's first film was "Kala," in which he played the role of the antagonist. Tovino also portrayed the titular character in the Netflix superhero film "Minnal Murali" (2021), which received positive reviews.

Throughout his career, Tovino has received several awards and accolades for his performances, including the Kerala Film Critics Association Award and Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for "Mayanadi." He is also recognized for his looks and style, being ranked among the most desirable men from Kerala by Kochi Times.

In his upcoming film "Neelavelicham," Tovino Thomas will be portraying the role of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer, a renowned Malayalam writer.
