Jazzy B, born Jaswinder Singh Bains on April 1, 1975, is an Indo-Canadian Punjabi singer and songwriter. He was born in Jalandhar, Punjab, India, and later moved to Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, with his family when he was five years old.
Jazzy B released his first album, "Gugiyan Da Jora," in 1993, with the rhythm played by Sukhshinder Shinda. Shinda advised Jazzy B to move to England if he wanted to have a prominent career in Punjabi music. Over the years, Jazzy B has released 12 studio albums and two religious albums. He has collaborated with various artists on many tracks.
Apart from his music career, Jazzy B has also ventured into the film industry. He made his film debut in 2000 with the movie "Shaheed Udham Singh." He has appeared in several Punjabi films, including "Teesri Aankh: The Hidden Camera" (2006), "Best of Luck" (2013), "Romeo Ranjha" (2014), "Double Di Trouble" (2014), and "Snowman: The Dark Side of Canada" (2022), among others. He has also made special appearances in films like "Jatt & Juliet 2" (2013) and "Jawaani Jaaneman" (2020).
Throughout his career, Jazzy B has worked with various Bollywood and international artists. He has collaborated with singers like Apache Indian, Snoop Dogg, and Hard Kaur, among others. His song "Sat Rangey" was featured in the Hollywood movie "Deadpool" in 2016. Jazzy B has also been recognized for his contributions to the entertainment industry and became the first South Asian entertainer to have his name added to the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame Star Walk in Vancouver.
In addition to his music and film career, Jazzy B has appeared as a judge on the Punjabi singing reality show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa" on Zee Punjabi, alongside Sonu Kakkar and Jaidev Kumar, mentored by Gurdas Mann. He continues to be an influential figure in the Punjabi music industry with his distinctive style and energetic performances.
