Jasdeep Singh Gill, known by his stage name Jassi Gill, is an Indian singer, live performer, and actor associated with Punjabi and Hindi music and films. He was born on November 26, 1988, in Jandali village near Khanna in Ludhiana district of Punjab. Gill studied at Gobindgarh Public College, where he focused on music and physical education. He participated in local youth festivals and consistently secured the second position in singing competitions.
Gill made his debut in the Punjabi music industry in 2011 with the album "Batchmate," which featured the popular song "Churiyan." He gained further recognition with the release of the single "Vigrey Sharabi" in 2012. In 2013, he released his second album, "Batchmate 2," which included the hit song "Lancer" with lyrics by Narinder Batth. Another popular song, "Classmate," featured in the film "Daddy Cool Munde Fool."
In addition to his music career, Jassi Gill ventured into acting. He made his acting debut in the Punjabi film "Mr & Mrs 420" and appeared in "Dil Vil Pyar Vyar" and "Mundeyan Ton Bachke Rahin." He starred alongside Gauahar Khan in the Punjabi film "Oh Yaara Ainvayi Ainvayi Lut Gaya" and worked with Neeru Bajwa in "Channo Kamli Yaar Di." Jassi Gill made his Hindi cinema debut in the film "Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi" (2018), sharing the screen with Sonakshi Sinha, Diana Penty, and Jimmy Sheirgill. He has also acted in films like "Panga" (2020) alongside Kangana Ranaut and "Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai?" (2021) alongside Surbhi Jyoti.
Jassi Gill has been recognized for his charm and popularity in the media. He ranked in The Times Most Desirable Men list at No. 42 in 2018, No. 44 in 2019, and No. 42 in 2020. In the Chandigarh Times Most Desirable Men list, he secured the No. 1 position in 2018 and 2020, and No. 2 in 2019.
