Vikramaditya Motwane is an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter known for his work in Hindi cinema. He has directed notable films such as "Udaan" (2010), "Lootera" (2013), "Trapped" (2017), and "Bhavesh Joshi Superhero" (2018). Motwane has made significant contributions to the Indian film industry and has also ventured into the digital space with Netflix's first Indian series, "Sacred Games."
Motwane's directorial debut was the critically acclaimed film "Udaan" in 2010. The film was selected to compete in the Un Certain Regard category at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival and went on to win seven Filmfare awards. It garnered praise for its realistic portrayal of a young boy's struggle for freedom and self-expression.
In 2013, Motwane directed "Lootera," a period romance film set in the 1950s. The film received positive reviews for its storytelling, performances, and visual aesthetics.

Motwane expanded his creative horizons by creating and co-directing Netflix's first Indian series, "Sacred Games." Based on the novel by Vikram Chandra, the crime thriller series received widespread acclaim and was renewed for a second season.
Motwane was associated with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and worked as an assistant on films like "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" (1999) and "Devdas" (2002). He also directed song sequences in Anurag Kashyap's unreleased film "Paanch" (2003) and worked as a choreographer on Deepa Mehta's Academy Award-nominated film "Water" (2005).
Motwane co-founded Phantom Films, a production company, along with Vikas Bahl, Anurag Kashyap, and Madhu Mantena. However, the company dissolved in 2018.
In addition to his film projects, Motwane has ventured into web series adaptations. He is set to adapt the non-fiction book "Black Warrant" into a web series in collaboration with writer-journalist Josy Joseph's Confluence Media.
