Reema Kagti was born on7 November 1972 in Guwahati, Assam, India. She started her career in the film industry as an assistant director, working with renowned directors like Farhan Akhtar, Ashutosh Gowariker, Honey Irani, and Mira Nair. She gained valuable experience while assisting these directors on their projects.
In 2007, Reema made her directorial debut with the film "Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.," which received critical acclaim for its fresh storytelling and ensemble cast. She followed it up with "Talaash," a neo-noir suspense drama starring Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Her most recent directorial venture is "Gold" (2018), a historical sports drama film starring Akshay Kumar. The film revolves around India's first Olympic gold medal win after independence and showcases the journey of the Indian hockey team during the 1948 London Olympics.
