Sujith Vaassudev is an Indian cinematographer and film director, primarily known for his work in Malayalam cinema. He has also worked on several Tamil and Telugu films. Some of his notable works include "Memories" (2013), "7th Day" (2014), "Drishyam" (2014), and "Lucifer" (2019). He received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Cinematographer in 2013.
Sujith Vaassudev began his career as a camera assistant at Sangeetha Vision, a studio in Trivandrum. He gained valuable experience by assisting various cinematographers and gradually developed his skills in cinematography. He started working independently for television, contributing to over 1000 episodes for different Malayalam channels. He also worked as an assistant to cinematographer Raja Rathinam.
In 2010, Sujith made his debut as an independent cinematographer with the Malayalam film "Chekavar." His exceptional work in films like "Drishyam," "7th Day," "Memories," "Ayaal," and "Anarkali" garnered praise from critics and audiences alike.
He received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Cinematography in 2013 for his work in the films "Ayaal" and "Memories." This recognition further established his reputation as a talented cinematographer in the Malayalam film industry.
In 2016, Sujith Vaassudev ventured into directing with the film "James & Alice," featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Vedhika in the lead roles. While he is primarily known for his cinematography, his directorial debut showcased his versatility and creative vision.
