Saumya Tandon is an Indian actress and television presenter, known for her role as Anita Mishra in the Hindi sitcom television series "Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!". She has also hosted several TV shows, including "Dance India Dance," "Bournvita Quiz Contest," and "Entertainment Ki Raat."
Saumya Tandon was born on 3 November 1984 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. She completed her schooling from St. Mary's Convent School in Ujjain. Her father, B.G. Tandon, is a writer and former professor.
She began her career in the entertainment industry as a model and was the first runner-up in the "Femina Cover Girl" contest in 2006. She also appeared in the Afghan serial "Khushi" in 2008, where she played the lead role of an Afghan woman doctor. Saumya Tandon co-hosted the show "Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout" with Shah Rukh Khan in 2011 and has hosted "Dance India Dance" for three seasons. She also co-hosted "Bournvita Quiz Contest" with Derek O'Brien and hosted "LG Mallika-e-Kitchen."
However, Saumya Tandon gained significant popularity for her portrayal of Anita in the comedy serial "Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!" starting from 2015. She earned the nickname "gori mem" from the show. In 2018, she hosted the second season of "Entertainment Ki Raat" on Colors TV.
In August 2020, Saumya Tandon announced her departure from "Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!" after playing the role of Anita for several years.
Regarding her personal life, Saumya Tandon prefers to keep it private. In 2016, she married her longtime boyfriend Saurabh Devendra Singh, whom she had been dating for 10 years.
