Sanjeeda Sheikh, born on December 20, 1984, is an Indian actress known for her work in the Hindi television industry. She is widely recognized and considered one of the most famous actresses in Indian television.
Sanjeeda was born in Kuwait to a religious Muslim family with roots in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
In March 2012, she married her longtime boyfriend, Aamir Ali. The couple revealed in August 2020 that they had a one-year-old daughter named Ayra Ali through surrogacy. However, they separated in 2020 after eight years of marriage, and their divorce was granted in 2021, with Sanjeeda getting the custody of their daughter. Reportedly, she is currently dating her co-star from the movie "Taish," Harshvardhan Rane.
In May 2017, Sanjeeda's sister-in-law filed a domestic violence case against her, her brother, and their mother, alleging physical abuse and mistreatment. The case resulted in legal proceedings, with Sanjeeda being granted interim relief by the court.
Sanjeeda has portrayed various roles in television soap operas. She made her acting debut as Nimmo in the TV series "Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa" in 2005. She gained recognition for her portrayal of a vamp in the Star Plus series "Kayamath" in 2007. The same year, she participated in the dance competition show "Nach Baliye 3" with her husband, Aamir Ali, and they won the competition.
In 2008, she appeared in the serial "Kya Dill Main Hai" opposite Aamir Ali, which aired on the 9X channel.
Her breakthrough role came in 2014 when she played the character of Durga Thakur in the series "Ek Hasina Thi." Her performance in the show received critical acclaim, and it became one of the most successful shows on Star Plus at the time.
In 2016, Sanjeeda portrayed the character of Dhani in "Ishq Ka Rang Safed," where she played an onscreen mother for the first time, with a 5-year-old child.
