Sanaya Irani, born on September 17, 1983, is an Indian actress known for her work in Hindi television. She gained popularity for her roles as Gunjan in "Miley Jab Hum Tum," Khushi in "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?," and Parvati in "Rangrasiya." In 2015, she participated in the eighth season of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" and emerged as the first runner-up. She also took part in "Nach Baliye" in 2017 with her husband Mohit Sehgal and finished in third place.
Sanaya was born into an Irani (Zoroastrian) family in Mumbai. She spent seven years in a boarding school in Ooty and later graduated from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai. She was pursuing an MBA degree before entering the modeling industry.
Sanaya made her acting debut with a cameo appearance in the film "Fanaa" (2006). Prior to entering television, she worked in TV advertisements alongside Bollywood stars such as Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Her television debut was in the SAB TV drama "Left Right Left" (2007), followed by a negative role in "Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi" (2008).
She rose to prominence with her lead role as Gunjan in "Miley Jab Hum Tum" (2008-2010). Sanaya also hosted the second season of "Zara Nachke Dikha" on STAR Plus and appeared as a panel member in "Meethi Chorii No. 1" in 2010.
Her breakthrough role came as Khushi Kumari Gupta in "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?" (2011-2012), which garnered her immense popularity. Sanaya continued her television journey with shows like "Chhan Chhan" (2013) and "Rangrasiya" (2014), where she played significant roles.
She participated in "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8" in 2015 and reprised her role as Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada in the mini-series "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?... Ek Jashan" (2015). In 2017, she participated in the dance show "Nach Baliye 8" with her husband, Mohit Sehgal.
Apart from her regular roles, Sanaya has made special appearances in shows like "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" and "Bigg Boss." She has also toured the UK on behalf of Star Plus.
