Posani Krishna Murali is an Indian screenwriter, actor, director, and producer known for his work in Telugu cinema. Born on January 22, 1958, in Pedakakani, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, he had a humble upbringing. After completing his education, Posani started his career as an assistant writer under the renowned Paruchuri Brothers and worked with them for five years. During this time, he gained valuable experience and contributed to over 100 films.
In 1992, Posani quit his job as an assistant writer and made his acting debut with a cameo role in the Telugu film Dharma Kshetram. He went on to write for numerous successful films, including Gaayam, Rakshana, Alluda Majaka, and Thammudu. Posani's witty dialogues and engaging storytelling earned him popularity and recognition in the Telugu film industry.
In 2001, Posani made his debut as an actor with Srihari's Evadra Rowdy, which he also wrote. He continued to act in films such as Gemini, Bobby, Good Boy, and Bhadradi Ramudu. Alongside his acting career, Posani aspired to become a director and established his production company, UP Cinema Lines. In 2005, he wrote, directed, and produced Sravanamasam, but the film did not perform well at the box office.
However, Posani's luck changed with his second directorial venture, Operation Duryodhana (2007), a political satire. The film garnered critical acclaim and commercial success, establishing Posani as a talented director. He went on to direct films like Apadamokkulavadu, Mental Krishna, Rajavari Chepala Cheruvu, Posani Gentleman, and Dushasana.
Posani also ventured into politics and contested in the Andhra Pradesh state legislative assembly elections in 2009 but was unsuccessful. In addition to his directorial and acting pursuits, he has also produced films under his production banner.
