L. V. Revanth, born on February 10, 1990, is an Indian playback singer known for his work in Telugu cinema. He gained recognition after winning the singing competition show "Rock Star" and "Spicy Singer" on Maa TV. He has sung approximately 200 songs for Telugu and Kannada films.
Revanth rose to fame by winning the ninth season of the popular singing reality show Indian Idol, which aired on Sony Entertainment Television. His victory in the show earned him a cash prize of Rs. 25 lakhs and a Mahindra KUV100 car. He gained further acclaim for his rendition of the song "Manohari" from the blockbuster film "Baahubali: The Beginning." This song garnered him nominations for the IIFA Utsavam and Star Maa Music Awards for Best Male Playback Singer.
Apart from his success in singing, Revanth also made his mark in the world of reality television by winning the sixth season of Bigg Boss Telugu in 2022. His charismatic personality and talent endeared him to the audience, leading to his victory in the show.
Revanth hails from Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, and was raised by his mother, Seetha Subbalaxmi, as his father passed away before his birth. He completed his schooling at Bala Bhanu Vidyalayam in Srikakulam and pursued his bachelor's degree at Dr. V S Krishna Government College in Visakhapatnam. He has an elder brother named Santosh Kumar.
Revanth's journey in the music industry began with his appearances on various television shows. He participated in "Saptha Swaralu" on ETV and was the runner-up in "Super Singer 5" and "Super Singer 7." He later became a mentor on "Super Singer 8," showcasing his expertise and guiding aspiring singers.
Revanth's debut as a playback singer came in 2008 with the song "Jhalak Dikhlaja" from the film "Maha Yagnam," composed by Vandemataram Srinivas. He considers renowned composer M. M. Keeravani as his mentor. In 2017, he gained significant recognition for his songs "Telisiney Na Nuvvey" and "Oopiri Aaguthunnadey" in the film "Arjun Reddy."
In addition to singing, Revanth also ventured into composing. In 2019, he composed the title track for the Zee Telugu TV series "Radhamma Kuthuru," showcasing his versatility and talent beyond singing.
