Rimi Tomy is a multi-talented Indian artist known for her contributions as a playback singer, Carnatic musician, television host, and occasional actress. She began her career by hosting music programs on television and made her singing debut with the song "Chingamasam Vannu Chernnal" in the 2002 film "Meesa Madhavan," alongside co-singer Shanker Mahadevan.
In addition to her singing career, Rimi Tomy has anchored numerous television shows and has served as a judge on various reality shows spanning different genres. She has showcased her talent and versatility as a television host and entertainer.
Rimi Tomy ventured into acting with the Aashiq Abu film "5 Sundarikal," marking her debut as an actress. She later took on a lead role opposite Jayaram in the 2015 film "Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare." She has also made appearances in song sequences in films such as "Balram Vs Tharadas," "Kaaryasthan," and "916." Additionally, she has acted in various advertisements, showcasing her versatility across different mediums.
Born into a Syro-Malabar Catholic family in Pala, Kottayam, Rimi Tomy is the daughter of Tomy Joseph and Rani Tomy. She has a sister named Reenu Tomy and a brother named Rinku Tomy. Sadly, her father passed away on July 6, 2014, due to cardiac arrest.
Rimi Tomy's singing career took off when she joined the well-known troupe called Angel Voice. During a show with Angel Voice, she caught the attention of mimicry artist, composer, and lyricist Nadirshah. Impressed by her talent, he recommended her to Lal Jose, the director of the film "Meesa Madhavan," and film composer Vidyasagar. This breakthrough opportunity led to a successful singing career for Rimi Tomy.
In 2008, Rimi Tomy married Royce Kizhakoodan at Lourde Cathedral Church in Thrissur. However, in 2019, after 11 years of marriage, the couple filed for a mutual divorce petition. Rimi Tomy currently resides in Edapally, Kochi. Her brother Rinku Tomy is married to actress Muktha.
