Neel Madhav is an Indian television personality, public speaker, actor, author, mentalist, and illusionist. He is known for his work in the field of contemporary magic, mentalism, neuro-linguistic programming, and criminology. Neel represents FashionTV International in India and hosts the travel and magic TV show "You Got Magic with Neel Madhav." He was recognized in the 2019 Forbes Asia Sports and Entertainment 30 under 30 list.
Born on August 14, 1993, Neel is the son of Raghvendra Madhav, an investment banker, and Vinita Madhav, a scriptwriter and producer. He grew up in various locations, including New York, Mumbai, and New Delhi. Neel completed his secondary education at The Doon School and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from H.R. College, Mumbai. During his college years, he undertook seven internships as part of his studies.
Neel draws inspiration from magicians James Randi and Jason Randal, while considering David Blaine, Dynamo, and Derren Brown as his role models.
In 2014, Neel launched his show "You Got Magic with Neel Madhav" on NDTV Good Times, which combines food, travel, adventure, and magic. The show became popular, featuring tricks like turning sand into gold, transforming leaves into butterflies, making people forget how to read, and predicting newspaper headlines. It is scheduled to air on Sony BBC Earth starting in March 2020.
Neel has also been a speaker at TEDx conferences, discussing topics such as criminal psychology, neuro-linguistic programming, creativity, and innovation. He teaches criminal psychology and neuro-linguistic programming as well.
In 2016, Neel co-authored a book titled "You Got Magic" with Vinita Madhav, published by Penguin Random House. He has also ventured into acting and appeared in the Amazon Original TV series "Made in Heaven" in a recurring role as Arjun Mehra, the brother of the lead character.
