Yashasvi Jaiswal is an Indian cricketer known for his performances in the sport. He was born on December 28, 2001, in Suriyawan, Uttar Pradesh, India. Jaiswal is a left-handed batsman and occasionally bowls slow left-arm orthodox spin.
Yashasvi Jaiswal rose to prominence during the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup held in South Africa, where he was the leading run-scorer of the tournament. He scored 400 runs in six matches, including a century against Pakistan in the semifinals. Jaiswal's consistent performances played a crucial role in India's successful campaign, where they reached the final but were runners-up to Bangladesh.
Jaiswal's success in the Under-19 World Cup earned him recognition, and he was subsequently signed by the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the 2020 season. He made his IPL debut in September 2020 and became the youngest cricketer to score a half-century in the tournament's history.
