Shahbaz Ahmed, born on December 12, 1994, is an Indian cricketer who represents the Indian national cricket team. He plays as a bowling all-rounder and bats left-handed. Shahbaz made his international debut on October 9, 2022, for the Indian cricket team. He is associated with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League and plays for Bengal in domestic cricket.
Shahbaz's domestic career includes notable performances in various formats. He made his List A debut for Bengal in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy and his Twenty20 debut in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He has participated in first-class, List A, and T20 matches, showcasing his versatility as a player. He has achieved significant figures in all three formats, both with the bat and ball. In January 2021, he even claimed a Ranji Trophy hat-trick against Hyderabad.
In the Indian Premier League, Shahbaz was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2020 IPL auction. He made his IPL debut against Rajasthan Royals during the 2020 season and continued to contribute with both bat and ball. His performances earned praise, particularly during the 2021 IPL season when he took three wickets in one over against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In the 2022 IPL auction, Shahbaz was once again bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament.
