Yuzvendra Chahal, an Indian cricketer known for his leg spin bowling, plays for the Indian cricket team and also represents Haryana in domestic cricket. He features for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. Chahal was the first Indian and second player ever to take a 6-wicket haul in a T20I match. He gained recognition as the first concussion substitute to win the Man of the Match award in an international cricket match. Before cricket, he excelled in chess and represented India at the World Youth Chess Championship.
In the Indian Premier League, Chahal initially joined Mumbai Indians in 2011, then moved to Royal Challengers Bangalore, and later to Rajasthan Royals in 2022. He secured a hat-trick and a five-wicket haul in an IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2022.
In international cricket, Chahal made his debut in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) against Zimbabwe in 2016. He gained attention with his exceptional performances, including a historic 6-wicket haul for India in T20Is against England. Chahal was a consistent wicket-taker in T20Is and ODIs, and he featured prominently in India's squads, including the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
Beyond cricket, Chahal's unique distinction is representing India internationally in both cricket and chess. He participated in the World Youth Chess Championship before focusing on cricket. In his personal life, Chahal got engaged to Dhanashree Verma, a YouTuber, dance choreographer, and dentist, and they married in December 2020.
