Sanju Viswanath Samson is an Indian international cricketer who captains the Kerala cricket team in domestic cricket and the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is a right-handed wicket-keeper-batter known for his aggressive and elegant batting style. Born on November 11, 1994, he made his India debut in a T20I against Zimbabwe in 2015 and later made his ODI debut in 2021 against Sri Lanka.
Samson began his cricketing journey in Delhi before moving to Kerala. He made his first-class debut for Kerala in 2011 and his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals in 2013. He gained attention by winning the Emerging Player of the Year award in his debut IPL season. He has had a stop-start international career, with periods of inconsistency, but he has shown his potential as a power-hitter and skilled batsman.
Samson has also been involved in various initiatives off the field. He manages Bharat Petroleum in Thiruvananthapuram, runs a sports academy called "Six Guns Sports Academy," and served as the brand ambassador for Kerala Blasters FC, an Indian Super League football club.
