Fashion Designer
Anita Dongre is an Indian fashion designer who founded the House of Anita Dongre in 1995. She is known for her modern, yet elegant designs that are inspired by Indian culture and traditions. Dongre's collections have been worn by celebrities such as Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She has also designed costumes for films such as "Devdas" and "Chak De! India."
In addition to her fashion line, Dongre is also the founder of the Anita Dongre Foundation, which works to promote sustainable development and social responsibility in the fashion industry. The foundation provides training and support to artisans and women's groups in rural India.
Dongre has been recognized for her work with several awards, including the Padma Shri, one of India's highest civilian honors. She is also a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America
