Vinay Pathak is an Indian theater and film actor known for his work in Hindi cinema. He has also had supporting roles in movies such as "Jism," "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi," and "My Name is Khan."
Born on July 27, 1968, in the Bhojpur district of Bihar, India, Vinay Pathak spent his early years in Dhanbad as his father was posted in the police department. He attended Vikas Vidyalaya, a boarding school in Ranchi, until 1982. After completing his graduation from Allahabad University, he moved to the United States for higher studies. During his time at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he had various acting roles and gained experience in comedies like "Khosla Ka Ghosla" and "Bheja Fry."
In 1999, Pathak played the role of Vinny in the television series "Hip Hip Hurray." He also ventured into film production and produced the movie "Dasvidaniya," which depicted the story of a common man bidding farewell before dying.
Pathak has been associated with several television shows as a host and anchor. He co-hosted the talk show "Ranvir Vinay Aur Kaun?" with his close friend Ranvir Shorey. Together, they also anchored shows like "House Arrest," "Duniya Goal Hain," and "Cricket Crazy." Pathak was part of the gag-based show "The Great Indian Comedy Show," alongside Ranvir Shorey, Suresh Menon, and Gaurav Gera.
In addition to his television work, Pathak has acted in various films, including "Johnny Gaddaar," "Aaja Nachle," "Khoya Khoya Chand," "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi," and "Antardwand."
Vinay Pathak is married to Sonika Sahay, and the couple has two daughters named Vasudha and Sharinee.
