Vicky Kaushal is an Indian actor who primarily works in Hindi films. He was born on May 16, 1988, in Mumbai, India. His father, Sham Kaushal, is an action director in the Indian film industry, and his mother, Veena Kaushal, is a homemaker. Vicky has a younger brother named Sunny, who is also an actor.
After completing his engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology in Mumbai, Vicky initially aspired to have a career in the film industry. He started his journey in the film industry as an assistant director to Anurag Kashyap in the 2012 crime drama "Gangs of Wasseypur." He also played minor roles in films like "Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana" and "Bombay Velvet."
Vicky got his first leading role in the independent drama film "Masaan" in 2015. His performance in the film received critical acclaim, and it was screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
