Arjan Bajwa, born on September 3, 1979, is an Indian actor known for his work in Hindi and Telugu films. In Telugu films, he is credited as Deepak, which is his real name. He started his career in Telugu cinema and later gained recognition in Bollywood.
Bajwa was born in Delhi, India, into a Punjabi Jatt Sikh family belonging to the Bajwa clan. His father, Swinderjeet Singh Bajwa, was a former deputy Mayor of Delhi from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Arjan Bajwa holds a degree in architecture from Delhi and is also a black belt in Taekwondo. Before entering the film industry, he had a successful career as a model, walking the ramp for renowned fashion designers. He appeared in numerous commercials for brands like Lux, Veet, Fiat Palio, and Godrej AC, sharing screen space with popular Bollywood actresses like Aishwarya Rai, Katrina Kaif, and Preity Zinta.
Bajwa made his Telugu film debut with "Sampangi" in 2001 and went on to play the lead role in several Telugu films, including "Premalo Pavani Kalyan" in 2002. He made his Hindi film debut in "Woh Tera Naam Tha" in 2004. However, his breakthrough role came with the critically acclaimed Bollywood film "Guru" in 2007, directed by Mani Ratnam. In the film, he played the antagonist opposite Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. He gained further recognition for his role as the male lead in Madhur Bhandarkar's "Fashion" (2008) alongside Priyanka Chopra. His performance in "Fashion" earned him the Stardust Award for Breakthrough Performance.
Bajwa has appeared in several other films in both Hindi and Telugu cinema. Some of his notable films include "King" (Telugu), "Arundhati" (Telugu), "Son of Sardaar," "Crook," "Bobby Jasoos," and "Rustom." In 2019, he played Shahid Kapoor's brother in the film "Kabir Singh," directed by Sandeep Vanga.
Besides acting, Arjan Bajwa has also hosted various events and award ceremonies. He has hosted the Filmfare Awards (South), International Film Festival of India Goa closing ceremonies, Kabaddi World Cup opening ceremony, and PTC Punjabi Film Awards.
