Action Director
Ravi Varma, born on 6th January 1976 in Bangalore, Karnataka, is an Indian action director known for his work in the South Indian film industry, particularly in Kannada and Telugu cinema.
Varma started his career in the film industry as a fight assistant in 1995 and gradually worked his way up. His breakthrough came when he took on the role of an action director in the Kannada film "Dharma" in 2004, which starred actor Darshan. Since then, he has become a prominent figure in the Sandalwood (Kannada film industry).
One of Varma's notable projects in Sandalwood is the epic period film "Sangoli Rayanna" starring Darshan. The movie was filmed on a grand scale with a large ensemble cast of around 1000 actors.
In 2009, Ravi Varma made his entry into the Telugu industry with director Krishna Vamsi's film "Mahatma." He subsequently expanded his work in the Telugu film industry.
Varma's action direction gained recognition beyond regional cinema when he worked on Bollywood films. He collaborated with renowned actors like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Shahid Kapoor. Some of the notable Hindi films he has been associated with include "Jai Ho," "Raees," and "Action Jackson."
In addition to his work in Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi cinema, Ravi Varma has also been involved in various other projects such as "Doddmane Hudga," "Jaguar," "Santhu Straight Forward," "Dhruva," "Rock On!! 2," and "Machine."
