Praneet Bhat, a talented Indian television actor, is widely recognized for his notable roles, including his portrayal of Shakuni in the epic TV series "Mahabharat" (2013–2014).
Hailing from Srinagar, Praneet Bhat is a Kashmiri Pandit. After completing his engineering degree, he initially worked at the software company Wipro. However, his passion for acting eventually led him to Mumbai in 2002 at the age of 22. Following a stint in modeling, he launched his television career in 2004. His journey in the entertainment industry began with appearances in TV programs such as "Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi," "Hotel Kingston," "Kituu Sabb Jaantii Hai," "Ssshhhh..Phir Koi Hai," and "Kaajjal."
Praneet Bhat gained recognition for his portrayal of the geeky character Aditya in "Geet" (2010–2011). However, it was his role as Shakuni in the mythological saga "Mahabharat" that catapulted him to international fame, earning him accolades for his performance. In 2014, he participated in the eighth season of the reality show "Bigg Boss."
In November 2015, Praneet Bhat married his longtime girlfriend, Kanchan Sharma, with many of his "Mahabharat" and "Bigg Boss" friends attending the wedding. He continued to impress audiences with his acting prowess by portraying negative roles in TV shows like "Rishton Ka Chakravyuh" and playing the character of Darius III in "Porus."
Since 2018, Praneet Bhat has been captivating audiences with his portrayal of a genie in the show "Aladdin - Naam Toh Suna Hoga." Additionally, he was set to feature as the magician Jafar in the upcoming story "Aladdin and the Magic Lamp" on Alif Laila in Dangal TV.
