Aditya Srivastava is an Indian actor who works in Hindi films, television and theatre. He is best known for his role as Senior Inspector Abhijeet in India's longest-running television police procedural C.I.D.. He has also portrayed pivotal roles in the Bollywood films Satya, Gulaal, Lakshya, Paanch, Black Friday, Kaalo, Super 30 and Dil Se Pooch Kidhar Jana Hai.
Srivastava was born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. He did his schooling from St. Joseph's College, Allahabad and graduated from Allahabad University with a degree in English Literature. He started his acting career with theatre and did several plays in Allahabad and Delhi. He moved to Mumbai in 1995 to pursue a career in films and television.
Srivastava made his film debut with the 1996 film Bandit Queen, where he played the role of Puttilal. He then went on to play supporting roles in films like Satya (1998), Gulaal (2000), Lakshya (2004), Paanch (2005), Black Friday (2007), Kaalo (2009), Super 30 (2019) and Dil Se Pooch Kidhar Jana Hai (2000).
In 1998, Srivastava was cast as Senior Inspector Abhijeet in the television series C.I.D.. The show became a huge success and Srivastava went on to play the role for over 20 years. He is one of the most popular actors on Indian television and has won several awards for his performance in C.I.D.
