Aasif Khan, born on March 13, 1991, in Nimbahera, Rajasthan, India, is a talented Indian actor known for his notable roles in various web series and films. He rose to prominence for his portrayal of Babar in the action crime thriller web series "Mirzapur" (2018-2020).
Aasif's passion for acting developed at a young age, sparked by his performance in a school play in 2001. Inspired by comedian Raju Srivastava, he participated in local stand-up competitions and won, fueling his interest in the field of arts.
However, following the sudden demise of his father in 2008, Aasif put his acting ambitions on hold and took up small jobs to support himself while completing his higher secondary education.
In 2010, he moved to Mumbai to revive his acting career. Initially working as a waiter and later in a mall, Aasif persevered and attended auditions. He received advice to learn the art of acting and perform in theater, which led him to join Sarthak and Ujaagar Theatre Group in Jaipur.
Aasif honed his acting skills through professional theater performances and gained valuable experience working with renowned personalities. Notable plays include "Abu Hassan" directed by Rajiv Acharya and the Rajasthani adaptation of William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" titled "Kasumal Sapno," performed at the International Theatre Festival in Karachi.
Returning to Mumbai in 2016, Aasif worked as a casting associate before making appearances in films like "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha" and "Pari" in cameo roles. He gained recognition for his lead role in the short film "Vacancy" (2017), for which he received awards.
In 2018, Aasif made a breakthrough with his portrayal of Babar in the web series "Mirzapur," earning critical acclaim and further establishing his acting prowess. He continued to make notable appearances in various projects, including "Jamtara - Sabka Number Ayega," "Panchayat," and "Paatal Lok."
