Shraddha Arya is an Indian actress born on August 17, 1987. She began her acting career in 2006 with the Tamil film "Kalvanin Kadhali," where she played the lead role alongside Nayantara. She also appeared in the Hindi film "Nishabd" and the Telugu film "Godava." Arya gained recognition for her performances in the Life OK serials "Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki," "Tumhari Paakhi," and "Dream Girl." Since 2017, she has been portraying the character of Dr. Preeta Arora in Zee TV's popular show "Kundali Bhagya."
Arya was born in New Delhi, India, and holds a master's degree in economics from the University of Mumbai. In terms of her personal life, she was engaged to an NRI named Jayant Ratti in 2015, but they called off their engagement due to compatibility issues. In 2019, she participated in the dance reality show "Nach Baliye 9" alongside Alam Makkar, revealing their relationship. However, they broke up soon after the show concluded.
On November 16, 2021, Arya got married to Rahul Nagal, an Indian Navy Officer, in an intimate ceremony in New Delhi.
Arya's acting career began with her participation in Zee TV's talent hunt show "India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj," where she became the first runner-up. She made her acting debut in 2006 with the Tamil movie "Kalvanin Kadhali" and subsequently entered Bollywood with Ram Gopal Varma's "Nishabd." She also appeared in other films like "Paathshaala" alongside Shahid Kapoor and several Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam movies.
In 2011, Arya made her television debut with the Indian soap opera "Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki." Her breakthrough role came as Paakhi in Life OK's "Tumhari Paakhi." She gained further prominence playing Ayesha in "Dream Girl - Ek Ladki Deewani Si."
Arya has received numerous awards for her performances in "Dream Girl" and "Tumhari Paakhi," including the Indian Telly Award for Best Actress in a Negative Role for "Dream Girl," Best Jodi Award at the Zee Gold Awards, Hero of the Month Award by Life OK, and the Women Achievers Award in 2016.
In 2016, Arya hosted a comedy show called "Mazaak Mazaak Mein," produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor.
Currently, she continues to appear in Zee TV's "Kundali Bhagya," a spinoff of "Kumkum Bhagya," where she portrays the character of Dr. Preeta Luthra, a physiotherapist. Her performance in the show has garnered her several awards and nominations, including the Kalakar Award for Best Actress and Best Actress Popular at the Gold Awards. Arya has also won the Favorite Popular Character Female award twice in a row at the Zee Rishtey Awards.
