Arjun Das is an Indian actor primarily known for his work in Tamil films, as well as a few Telugu films. He gained significant recognition for his role as Anbu in the film "Kaithi" (2019), where his deep bass voice made a lasting impression.
Arjun started his acting career with the suspense thriller "Perumaan" in 2012. After appearing in a few other movies and short films, he landed the role of the antagonist, a cocaine addict gang leader, in Lokesh Kanagaraj's "Kaithi." His portrayal received widespread acclaim, and the film propelled him to the forefront of the Tamil film industry. He then collaborated with Lokesh again for the film "Master," where he played the secondary antagonist named Das.
Prior to entering the film industry, Arjun worked as a banker in Dubai. However, he decided to pursue opportunities in cinema and moved to Chennai. He has mentioned in interviews that he was overweight at the time but managed to lose around 36 kilograms (79 lb) before entering the Tamil cinema industry.
In addition to his acting career, Arjun Das worked as a radio jockey for Radio One 94.3FM, hosting the Drive show. He has often attributed his initial fan base to his distinctive voice, which gained popularity during his time as a radio jockey.
Arjun's breakthrough came with "Kaithi," and he received high praise for his performance and voice. This led to his casting in "Master," where he delivered a memorable performance as Das, with his intense gaze and commanding voice standing out among the diverse cast.
Arjun Das's recent release is the supernatural thriller "Andhaghaaram," in which he plays the lead role of Vinod, an alcoholic and smoke addict coach plagued by guilt over his friend's mental condition.
Upcoming projects for Arjun include "Kumki 2," where he portrays a character with shades of grey, and "Dhruva Natchathiram," where he lends his voice for the villainous character. He will also star in an untitled film directed by Anwar Rasheed.
