Pragya Jaiswal is an Indian actress and model known for her work primarily in Telugu cinema. She made her acting debut in 2014 with the Tamil film "Virattu." However, she gained recognition and had her breakthrough in the Telugu period drama "Kanche" (2015), for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut - South.
Pragya Jaiswal completed her education at Symbiosis Law School in Pune. During her time at the university, she actively participated in beauty pageants and became a successful model. In 2014, she received the Symbiosis Sanskritik Puraskar in recognition of her achievements in the field of art and culture.
Her acting career took off with the Tamil film "Virattu," and she later appeared in the Telugu film "Mirchi Lanti Kurradu" in 2015. However, it was her role in the period drama "Kanche," directed by Krish, that brought her widespread acclaim. For her performance in the film, she received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut - South.
Pragya Jaiswal also made her Hindi film debut with "Titoo MBA" and has appeared in other Telugu films such as "Nakshatram" (2017) and "Achari America Yatra" (2018). In 2021, she played the role of an IAS Officer in the successful film "Akhanda."
Additionally, Pragya Jaiswal made a cameo appearance in the song "Anandam" in the devotional biographical film "Om Namo Venkatesaya" (2017) directed by K. Raghavendra Rao. She recently starred as the main female lead opposite Nandamuri Balakrishna in the film "Akhanda," which garnered significant box office success.
