Andrea Jeremiah is a versatile Indian actress, playback singer, and musician known for her work primarily in Tamil and Malayalam language films. She made her acting debut in the Tamil film "Pachaikili Muthucharam" in 2007 and her Malayalam debut with "Annayum Rasoolum" in 2013.
Throughout her career, Andrea has been part of many commercially successful films such as "Vishwaroopam," "Tadakha," "Endrendrum Punnagai," "Aranmanai," "Loham," "Thoppil Jopaan," "Taramani," "Aval," "Vada Chennai," and "Aranmanai 3."
Andrea Jeremiah was born in an Anglo-Indian family in Arakkonam, Tamil Nadu. Her father is a lawyer at the Madras High Court, and she has a younger sister who lives and works in Belgium. She grew up near Chennai and attended National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. Initially interested in becoming a psychiatrist, Andrea developed a passion for music at a young age and learned classical piano. She was also actively involved in theater and was the President of the Student Senate at Women's Christian College.
In the acting realm, Andrea started her journey with theater, performing in plays organized by The Madras Players and EVAM. She appeared in various advertisements and made her film debut with a small role in "Kanda Naal Mudhal." Director Gautham Vasudev Menon recognized her talent after she sang a song for his film "Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu" and cast her as the lead in his next film, "Pachaikili Muthucharam."
Andrea's acting career expanded as she worked in films like "Aayirathil Oruvan," "Mankatha," "Annayum Rasoolum," "Vishwaroopam," and its sequel. She received critical acclaim for her performance in "Annayum Rasoolum" and considers it one of the best films in her career. She has also worked in Malayalam films like "Loham" and "London Bridge."
Besides acting, Andrea is a talented playback singer and has lent her voice to numerous popular songs composed by Harris Jayaraj, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Anirudh Ravichander, Thaman, Devi Sri Prasad, and G. V. Prakash Kumar. She has received nominations at Filmfare and Vijay Awards for her singing. Additionally, Andrea has composed her own music, including the song "Soul of Taramani" for the film "Taramani."
