Despite being denied admission into the National School of Drama (NSD) due to his severe stammering, Aditya Chopra began his film-making career at the age of 18 as an assistant director. He worked alongside his father, Yash Chopra, on films such as "Chandni" (1989), "Lamhe" (1991), and "Darr" (1993). During this time, he also started writing screenplays, including his contributions to his father's film "Parampara" (1993).
