Rohit Kumar, popularly known as RCR, is a rapper and singer from Amritsar, India. Born into a middle-class Hindu family, Rohit developed an interest in singing during his school days. He showcased his talent at various school events and received encouragement from his teachers.
After completing his schooling at DAV Senior Secondary School in Amritsar, Rohit enrolled in Hindu College to pursue his graduation. It was during this time that a teacher recognized his potential as a rapper and advised him to pursue it as a career. Inspired by this guidance, Rohit made becoming a rapper his life's goal.
Due to financial constraints, Rohit left college after completing five semesters and moved to Mumbai to pursue his music career. He had a passion for writing and composing songs and has written over 500 raps to date. Although he had initially wanted to participate in "India's Got Talent" during his college days, he couldn't due to tonsils problems.
However, Rohit got his breakthrough opportunity on the singing reality show "Dil Se Hindustani," the second season of which aired on Star Plus. As a contestant on the show, he showcased his talent and gained recognition, making it to the top 10 contestants.
Following his appearance on "Dil Se Hindustani," Rohit had another significant opportunity to participate in MTV Hustle, a rap-based reality show. He had the chance to perform in front of renowned artists such as Raftaar, Raja Kumari, and Nucleya, who are prominent figures in the Indian music industry.
Rohit Kumar, aka RCR, has demonstrated his talent and passion for rap music through his journey on reality shows, earning him recognition and paving the way for his career as a rapper in the Indian music scene.
