Homi Adajania is an Indian film director and writer known for his work in Hindi and English-language films. He made his directorial debut with the English-language psychological drama "Being Cyrus" in 2006, which received critical acclaim despite not being a commercial success. Adajania's next film was the successful Hindi-language romantic comedy "Cocktail" in 2012, followed by the satirical comedy "Finding Fanny" in 2014.
He also directed the Hindi film "Angrezi Medium" in 2020.
Born in 1972, Adajania comes from a Parsi family. His father, Aspy Adajania, was an Indian Army officer and a prominent figure in amateur boxing in India. Adajania's sister, Zia Diwan Adajania, passed away in 2014 due to a stroke.
Adajania is married to Anaita Shroff Adajania, who is a fashion stylist and the Fashion Director of Vogue India. The couple has two children. Adajania's sister-in-law, Scherezade Shroff, is a well-known YouTuber and is married to actor Vaibhav Talwar.
In his youth, Adajania played for the Bombay Gymkhana rugby football team in Mumbai. He is also a certified CMAS (Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques) dive instructor and used to teach diving in the Lakshadweep islands.
