Neetu Kapoor, formerly known as Neetu Singh, is an Indian actress who primarily worked in Hindi films during the late 1960s, 1970s, and early 1980s. She was born on July 8, 1958, in New Delhi, India, as Harneet Kaur, to Punjabi Sikh parents Darshan Singh and Rajee Kaur Singh. Neetu Kapoor began her acting career as a child artist and made her debut in the film industry with the movie "Suraj" in 1966. She gained recognition for her dual role in the romantic comedy "Do Kaliyaan" (1968).
During her career, Neetu Kapoor transitioned to more mature roles and appeared in notable films such as "Yaadon Ki Baaraat" (1973), "Deewaar" (1975), "Kabhi Kabhie" (1976), "Amar Akbar Anthony" (1977), and "Dharam Veer" (1977). Her performances in films like "Parvarish" (1977), "Jaani Dushman" (1979), "Kaala Patthar" (1979), and "Yaarana" (1981) were praised by critics.
In 1980, Neetu Kapoor married actor Rishi Kapoor, with whom she had two children, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Ranbir Kapoor. After her marriage, she took a hiatus from acting and made a comeback almost three decades later with a minor role in the film "Love Aaj Kal" (2009). She then starred in films like "Do Dooni Chaar" (2010), which won her a Zee Cine Award, "Besharam" (2013), and made guest appearances in "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" (2012). She also starred in the film "Jug Jugg Jeeyo" (2022).
