Neelam Kothari Soni, commonly known as Neelam, is an Indian actress who primarily worked in Hindi films. She marked her acting debut with the film "Jawaani" in 1984 and went on to star in several movies throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. Some of her notable films include "Love 86" (1986), "Ilzaam" (1986), "Sindoor" (1986), "Khudgarz" (1987), "Hatya" (1988), "Farz Ki Jung" (1989), "Taaqatwar" (1989), and "Do Qaidi" (1989).
Neelam gained recognition for her performance in her debut film, and despite not achieving significant commercial success, she received numerous offers in the industry. She formed a popular on-screen pairing with Govinda and appeared alongside him in 14 movies, including successful films like "Love 86" (1986), "Khudgarz" (1987), "Hatya" (1988), and "Taaqatwar" (1989). She also starred alongside Chunkey Pandey in multiple films, such as "Aag Hi Aag" (1987), "Paap Ki Duniya" (1988), "Khatron Ke Khiladi" (1988), "Mitti Aur Sona" (1989), and "Ghar Ka Chiraag" (1989).
Apart from her Hindi film career, Neelam made appearances in other notable projects. She played herself as a VJ in the popular film "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" (1998) and portrayed a pivotal supporting role in the ensemble family drama "Hum Saath Saath Hain" (1999). Her last film was the much-delayed "Kasam" (2001), where she starred opposite Chunky Pandey.
